Senior police officials told the Guardian that Singh was shot at about 6.25 pm on 27 October after leaving a gym and walking towards his car in Charlieville. He died at the scene. The account describes preliminary information about the shooting; it does not name a suspect.
The earlier shooting makes the new death especially significant for investigators, but the timing alone does not prove a common perpetrator or motive. The police investigation and any later official account may clarify what happened and whether the incidents are connected.

Central Association of Legal Practitioners chairman Kiel Taklalsingh supported additional protection for lawyers facing elevated risks, including consideration of Firearm User’s Licences. These are proposals and professional reactions reported by the Guardian; they are not evidence that Singh was killed because of his legal work.

IzzSo’s report, published on 29 October, says police had not established a motive and had declined at the previous day’s news conference to say whether suspects had been identified or whether Singh’s killing was connected to cases he handled. It attributes the continuing examination of evidence and intelligence to Martin. The reviewed reports do not establish a link with the September attack.
