The Short

The Express reports that gates at Barakah Grounds in Chaguanas were locked on Tuesday amid a dispute over control and access. The foundation and a family representative gave differing accounts of the situation; the report does not settle ownership or authority over the premises.

The Full Story

A disagreement involving the foundation’s board and relatives of its late founder preceded the latest access dispute, according to the Express. Earlier statements from the parties set out competing accounts of the management and development of the grounds.

In its 4 November report, the newspaper says a foundation notice announced a lockdown until further notice. The foundation said it had notified police. A family representative quoted from a social-media video disputed the account of who was at the gate and said workers had been unable to enter.

The newspaper also describes conflicting parking arrangements during the nearby Divali Nagar. The current position should be checked with the organiser before relying on access or parking at the grounds. The original notices, video and an independent police account have not been reviewed here; this report establishes attributed accounts of restricted access, not a finding of financial wrongdoing or legal ownership.
