The Full Story
At the Pierre Road Ramleela celebrations on Sunday, Public Utilities Minister Barry Padarath announced sponsorship from bmobile for four community organisations. He told the Guardian that each had received more than TT$40,000. The newspaper did not name all four beneficiaries or publish grant documents, so the total and the recipients should remain attributed to the minister rather than presented as an audited list.

Land and Legal Affairs Minister Saddam Hosein also said the Government was willing to discuss permanent venues with the Felicity and Pierre Road committees. Those discussions are not an approved land transfer or construction project. The support comes amid the separate dispute over state-company spending at Divali Nagar, where government and organisers disagree over funding priorities. Ramleela sponsorship and Divali Nagar booth rentals are different commitments; their values should not be offset against each other without an itemised account.
