The Full Story
Trinidad and Tobago closed the Netball World Cup Americas qualifier with a 60–51 win over hosts Barbados on Monday. The Calypso Girls had already secured one of the two qualifying places; the final result completed a seven-win campaign and put them first in the eight-team table with 21 points.

Guardian match figures show T&T led 15–10 after the first quarter, 32–22 at halftime and 48–35 after three quarters. Barbados won the last quarter 16–12 but could not erase the deficit. Goal shooter Maikea Bramble finished with 36 goals from 43 attempts and captain Kalifa McCollin with 24 from 25.
St Vincent and the Grenadines finished second with six wins and also qualified for the 2027 tournament in Sydney. The Guardian table puts the United States third. The regional campaign now gives T&T a confirmed tournament place; match preparation and squad selection are the next phase rather than another qualifying hurdle.

In a Guardian report of her Thursday 29 October interview on CNC3’s Morning Shot, head coach Liselle Johnson called for government and corporate support for World Cup preparations. She identified stipends, meals, training footwear and team kit as needs and said financial pressures affect players and staff. Johnson welcomed the development programme’s regional results but said competing with leading international teams requires stronger preparation. The report announces no sponsorship amount, approved grant or payment timetable.
