The Short

CARIB Brewery says an oversized equipment convoy will travel from the Port of Port-of-Spain to Champs Fleurs on Sunday 1 November. Motorists should expect temporary restrictions and delays, including on sections of the Priority Bus Route. The company’s estimated schedule runs from 6 a.m. to about 4 p.m.

The Full Story

CARIB Brewery is bringing specialised brewing equipment to its Champs Fleurs facility as part of an investment in production. In a statement reported by the Trinidad Guardian on Thursday 29 October, the company set out plans for the oversized load to leave the Port of Port-of-Spain on Sunday 1 November.

The convoy is scheduled to start at 6 a.m. The company estimates it will reach the Beetham Highway at about 10 a.m., the Priority Bus Route at 2 p.m. and the brewery at approximately 4 p.m. These are expected arrival times rather than fixed road-closure periods, and the company says they may change with traffic, road conditions and operational needs.

The load will move at a controlled, reduced speed, with police supporting traffic management. CARIB Brewery warns of temporary restrictions and delays along the route and asks motorists and public transport operators to plan ahead and use alternatives where possible. It also asks road users not to overtake the equipment or convoy and to follow traffic officers’ instructions.

Paramount Transport and Trading Company Limited will move the equipment. The statement identifies sections of the Priority Bus Route but does not provide a complete street-by-street diversion plan. Travellers should allow for changing conditions on the day rather than treating the estimated convoy times as a guarantee.
