The newspaper describes a struggle in which the officer and his mother restrained the man and suffered bite injuries. It says neighbours were asked to contact police and that Central Division Task Force officers subsequently took the man into custody.

The report says charges were expected later in the week, rather than confirming that charges had been laid or a court appearance had occurred. Luk It Hyah has not obtained an original police statement about this incident; the intrusion, injuries and custody account remain attributed to the Express.
