By the Luk It Hyah newsdesk · Sources · Reporting disclaimer
The Short
The Met Service’s 2 November agricultural bulletin forecasts hot days from 4–9 November and wet spells from 1–3 and 12–15 November. It advises farmers to plan for both heat stress and heavy-rain risk, while Tobago remains under a drought warning.
The Full Story
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service issued its agricultural bulletin for 1–15 November at 12:57 p.m. on Monday 2 November. It forecasts hot days from 4–9 November, with a heightened risk of heat stress for poultry and a moderate risk for sheep. The bulletin says daily maximum temperatures could reach 34°C in Trinidad and 33°C in Tobago on those days.

The same bulletin identifies wet days from 1–3 and 12–15 November and a high flood risk for low-lying fields and access roads during a three-day wet spell. Rain on particular days and in particular places remains a forecast, not a report of flooding. It also says a drought warning for Tobago and a drought watch for Trinidad remain in place; short wet periods do not by themselves end those longer-term risks.
For farms, the Met Service suggests cooling, shade and ventilation for poultry, checking livestock water supplies, conserving soil moisture and watching for crop disease when humidity rises. These are general guidance in the bulletin, not a site-specific warning or proof of losses. Readers should check the latest daily forecast and warning before making plans because conditions can change.
