The Full Story
The San Juan station had been closed while its building needed work. In May, the San Juan Business Association proposed raising TT$10 million for a replacement station if the Government provided suitable land. The group argued that congestion near the San Juan Croisée could slow emergency vehicles.

The Guardian’s 28 October print edition reports that the existing station has reopened. At the reopening, Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander said the Government chose to improve the existing facility rather than fund a new one. He described a planned exit at the rear that would give fire appliances access to the Priority Bus Route; the account does not say that exit is already complete.
The business association continues to favour a new site. The central question is whether the reopened station and the proposed access change will provide reliable response times for San Juan and surrounding areas. No comparative response-time measurements were provided in the reviewed account.
