The Full Story
Caribbean Airlines flight BW615 arrived at ANR Robinson International Airport on Sunday night, opening the new nonstop Toronto–Tobago service. The Guardian reported that 61 passengers were aboard the inaugural flight. Most were from the Tobagonian diaspora in Canada, according to TTT Live. The route gives travellers another way to reach the island without a connection through Trinidad.

Tobago tourism secretary Zorisha Hackett said her division budgeted TT$1.5 million for the route’s launch, Canadian marketing and a minimum-revenue guarantee. That is support for establishing the service; the first flight’s passenger count alone does not establish its long-term demand. The Guardian also reports that the flight was the first international arrival at Tobago’s new east terminal.
Separately, Caribbean Airlines announced 1,000 extra seats on the Trinidad–Tobago airbridge, available from 27 October for the 30 October–1 November Carnival period. The Port Authority said its passenger-vessel fleet was operating at full capacity. More seats address the immediate travel bottleneck, while the return journey after the festival remains a practical concern for visitors.
