Police say Hanson was found dead at his Princes Town home on 11 October. Their statement expected the teenager to be formally charged and appear before a Master of the Children’s Court on Monday 2 November. An Express report on Monday also attributes the charging advice and expected appearance to the police release.

The sources reviewed do not confirm that formal charging or the court appearance had taken place by this review. Advice to charge is distinct from a completed court proceeding, and no finding of guilt is established. The child’s identity and address are not reproduced.
